Twenty four years ago, Oregon State Senator Margaret Carter and the late Senator Bill McCoy co-sponsored House Joint Memorial 10, which honors jazz master bassist, Leroy Vinnegar’s contribution to cultural life in Oregon; May 1st was declared Leroy Vinnegar Day. Mr. Vinnegar, Mel Brown and Jof Lee made history that morning in 1995 as the first trio to perform in the Oregon Senate Chamber.

Wednesday evening May 1, 2019, join Leroy’s good friends and former bandmates at Teutonic Wine Company to spin some of his early recordings on vinyl and raise a toast to his legacy.

This year’s Leroy Vinnegar Day celebration will be in support of the 39th Annual Cathedral Park Jazz Festival,

The Dan Faehnle Quartet, featuring Alan Jones on drums, Jon Lakey on bass and Greg Goebel on piano, will perform and honor this great musican.

Small plate menu available 6 to 9 pm, music starts at 7:30 pm. $10 cover at the door, 21+ only.
