Night #2 – Greg Goebel, A Tribute to Herbie Hancock

Guest Chef Johanna Ware

“I chose to perform a tribute to Herbie not only because he’s a huge influence on my own playing, but he’s also one of the most influential voices in modern jazz piano.  His ability, like Miles, to cross into different genres, never getting stuck in the past, always moving forward, while still maintaining his unique voice is something that I’ve admired and strived to develop in my own career.” – Greg Goebel

Greg Goebel will be accompanied by John Nastos (alto saxophone) Phil Baker (bass) and Alan Jones (drums).

Guest Chef Johanna Ware

A New York trained chef, Johanna got her chops at Public, two of David Chang’s Momofuko restaurants and Del Posto. Upon arriving in Portland, she worked for Cathy Whims at Nostrana, and then opened up her own restaurant Smallwares. After a great 7-year run, she closed the doors this year to focus on new things.  She will be preparing some of her signature Pan Asian dishes including kimchi pancakes, steamed fish in banana leaf, short rib ragu and more.
