Guest Winemaker Sébastien Congretel
Teutonic Wine Company
3303 SE 20th Ave. Portland, OR 97202
Sébastien Congretel was living in Paris and working on oil rigs, where he would be away from his family for a month at a time. He moved with his wife and three kids to Beaujolais, where his wife grew up and whose father makes Beaujolais. Sébastien decided to leave his work on the oil rigs to become a vigneron in 2015. He has fallen in with a group of rock star natural Beaujolais producers, in particular, Julien Sunier who Sébastien refers to as his “Master Yoda” and has taught him how to work in the vineyards and the cellar. Although, he has only been making wine for a few vintages, the quality is that of a veteran.
Sébastien will be pouring his Vin de Chacha, Réginie 2016 and his Vin de Zélebrité, Morgon 2016
Additional Info: • 2.5 hectares total from the cru regions of Regnie and Morgon • All vineyards are organically farmed • Hand harvested • Indigenous yeast fermentation • Unfined and unfiltered • Aged for approximately 8 months in a mix of neutral oak barrels and foudre
