Teutonic Wine Company and the Alan Jones Academy of Music present

featuring NaMu, April 26th

NAMU is a Portland-based seven-piece instrumental band and brainchild of composer and trumpet player Chang Park. Born in Korea, moved to Harlem NY and then finally settling in Portland. NaMu melds genres of jazz, funk, hip/trap, metal, house/idm together into a brave new breed of sound. The word “NaMu” means tree in Korean and is represented by the kanji symbol. The band uses the concept of the tree as a metaphor for how music shapes a community. Trees spread out their roots and have far reaching effects on their surroundings, fostering ecosystems from the ground up. NaMu seeks to foster art and companssion in their community in the same way.

Members include Chang Park (trumpet), Lee Hauser (drums and electronics), Lee Burlingame (alto sax) Kaleb Davies, (drums), Miguel Hernandez (guitar), Patrick Golichink (bass).

Music starts at 7:30 pm. Small plate menu available. There will be $5 cover at the door. 21+ only.
