Teutonic Wine Company and the Alan Jones Academy of Music present

Barra Brown Quintet, July 10th

A truly eclectic musician, Barra Brown studied classical flute performance at Lewis & Clark College where he graduated with honors while studying drums on the side through the prestigious Alan Jones Academy of Music (AJAM). Barra has toured the continental United States and Alaska with indie-folk group Alameda, Ages and Ages, Shook Twins, and Morning Ritual. He has two releases as a composer and leader with the Barra Brown Quintet (BBQ) on Portland Jazz Composers Ensemble Records (PJCE). In December 2014 he released an EP with his project The Wishermen, a collective of young jazz heavyweights dedicated to exploring genre boundaries and creating a new amalgam of many styles and influences, on Cavity Search Records (Elliott Smith, Wayne Horvitz).  He is currently writing, recording, and performing with his new project Korgy & Bass, a live sampled based hip-hop duo with two EPs out on Cavity Search Records (2016 & 2017).

Join us for the Barra Brown Quintet featuring Barra Brown on drums, Justin Copeland on trumpet, Enzo Irace on guitar, Arcellus Sykes on bass and Ian Christiansen on tenor sax.

Music starts at 7:30 pm. We offer a small plate menu. $5 cover at the door. 21+ only.
