A little about Sheri.
Sheri Hood spent her formative years learning about life, love and rock ‘n’ roll in CBGB, Danceteria, Maxwell’s and DC’s 930 Club. An NYC-based manager of rock bands and record label jill-of-all-trades, she most notably opened and established the American office of the British-based record label, 4AD. Band management included Stereolab, Slowdive, Mojave 3, Cranes, The Raincoats, Ultra Vivid Scene, Pell Mell, and Velvet Crush. Now in the second phase of her life she makes wine. After she moved out west to pursue her love of wine, she worked several crushes before completing her Viticulture and Enology degree at US Davis in 2003. On Saturday December 9th, we’re going to combine both her passions for you to come taste and listen.
2014 Kick Out the Jams, Willamette Valley Pinot Noir -Named after one of Sheri’s favorite songs/album of all time by Wayne Kramer and his wine Margaret who will be celebrating their 50th anniversary of recording this album.
2014 Bryter Layater, Willamette Valley Chardonnay – A single vineyard wine, fruit from Justice Vineyards in Eola Hills, fermented in neutral puncheons.
2013 This is the Modern World, Willamette Valley Pinot Noir – From some of the oldest vines planted in Oregon, at Chehalem Mountain Vineyards, self-rooted “suitcase clones” planted by David Lett in the 1970’s. Sherri named this wine after a bunch of art school punks who will party late into the night and have big plans to change the world.
