2010 Immich-Anker Riesling Sekt Brut

Mosel, Germany

112 cases imported (total production is 420 cases for 2010) This sparkling wine is a single vineyard Riesling from 60 to 90 year-old vines that grow in a steep site composed of mostly blue slate. Hand riddled, disgorged and topped with their own 2007 Auslese as the dosage, this is a beautifully crafted wine. The vineyard is Zeppwingert in Enkirch, a stones throw away from the Mosel River. It's chock full of mineral with just a touch of creaminess in the mid palate. Dollar for dollar, this sparkling wine is as good as any premium Champagne but for a fraction of the price. Méthode Traditionnelle.
